TeleriskTelerisk is a website providing news, analysis and information about insurance, business risks and technology. I wrote about the potential liability exposures from drones in 2016 and I'm reminded of it now because I've been doing a bit of work on drone insurance recently. Back in 2016 insurers were starting to worry about how to cover drones. Now the cover is often excluded from standard insurance policies. As an example, here's the exclusion in Allianz's office insurance policy: This Section does not cover: ... 4) any liability arising out of the ownership, possession or use by the Insured or on their behalf of: ... b. any aircraft or other aerial device made or intended to travel through air or space Essentially, drone operators - even if they're only operating drones recreationally - probably need to buy a standalone drone insurance policy these days. And probably a drone insurance policy with fairly high liability indemnity limits. Click here to read my article. (Link opens in a new window.) |
NewsRecent work I've been doing on drone insurance has reminded me of work I did for Telerisk a while back. Salon Gold operates an insurance scheme for the hair & beauty sector and I've been providing content that explains those schemes to their clients. I've been writing content for Tradesman Saver that explains their construction insurance scheme to their clients. |
